Getting started with ManyRequests

Watch the 2-minute demo, then brand your portal, set up payments, create and share a service, and test it as a client.

Written by Gabriel Lecointere

Use case: you've just opened your ManyRequests portal and want to be ready for your first client: your brand in place, a way to get paid, a service to sell and a quick test from the client's side.

Watch the quick demo

This 2-minute video shows how your first requests come in: Watch the ManyRequests demo on YouTube. It's the same video as the Watch a quick demo step on your dashboard.

How setup works

When you sign up, a short setup wizard walks you through four steps:

  • Brand: your logo and colors, with a live preview.

  • Team: invite teammates by email as Admin or Team member.

  • Billing: connect Stripe, or choose Skip billing for now.

  • Services: tell us how you charge your clients and ManyRequests suggests starter services with AI. Edit them, add your own or regenerate them.

You can click Skip for now on any step. After the wizard, your dashboard shows a Getting started checklist with six steps: Watch a quick demo, Set up your brand, Invite a client, See your client portal, Customize services and Connect billing. Your brand and billing steps are already ticked if you set them up in the wizard. Click the X next to a step to skip it. For the full walkthrough, see Set up your portal: signup, setup wizard and checklist.

The steps below cover the same ground, so you can come back to them any time from Settings.

Step 1: Set up your brand

  1. Go to Settings > Portal.

  2. Enter your Portal name.

  3. Under Logo and favicon, upload a Logo for light background, a Logo for dark background and a Favicon.

  4. Under Preferences, pick your Primary color and sidebar colors.

  5. Click Save changes.

On the Advanced tab you'll find your custom portal domain, the sign up page, custom styles and scripts, and more.

Step 2: Choose how you get paid

  1. Go to Settings > Modules and extensions and open Billing.

  2. On the Payments tab, turn on Automate payments with Stripe to connect your Stripe account, or Enable manual payments to get paid outside the platform, for example by bank transfer.

  3. Click Save changes.

Step 3: Create a service

  1. Go to Services > All services.

  2. Click Create service.

  1. Choose the Service type: One-off (charged once for a fixed scope of work) or Recurring (billed every period as a subscription). Click Next.

Service type step with One-off and Recurring
  1. In Service details, add a name, description and image.

  2. In Pricing details, set the price, billing period and options like a free trial.

  3. In Request form, build the brief your clients fill in. See How to customize service request forms.

  4. Click Save.

Step 4: Share the service with clients

Open the service from Services > All services. Under Share your service:

  • Service URL takes clients straight to the request form and checkout. Click Copy to clipboard and add it to your website or send it to a client.

  • Catalog URL opens your catalog of services. Turn on Show in catalog? to list this service there.

Step 5: See your portal as a client

Your portal comes with a test client, John Doe from ACME Corp. On your dashboard, use the See your client portal step (View as a client) to open the portal as that client. Create a request or buy a service to see the whole flow. Purchases made by the test client are free of charge. Click Leave impersonation to come back to your own account.

You can also log in as any client from Users > Clients: open the client's menu and choose Impersonate.
