Stripe lets your clients pay you online by card and lets ManyRequests manage their subscriptions and invoices for you. You connect your own Stripe account once, and payments go straight to it.
Use case: You want clients to buy your services from the catalog and be charged automatically every month, without sending invoices by hand. Connecting Stripe turns on online checkout, automatic invoicing and subscription billing.
Portal admins and admins can connect Stripe. You need a Stripe account, or you can create one during the connection.
How to connect Stripe
Go to Settings > Modules and extensions and open Billing.
On the Payments tab, find Automate payments with Stripe (Accept online payments by connecting your Stripe account.) and click the Connect with Stripe button next to it.
You are taken to Stripe. Sign in, choose the Stripe account to connect (or create one) and confirm the connection.
Stripe sends you back to your portal. The Automate payments with Stripe switch is now on, which means you are ready to accept payments.
Good to know: you can also connect Stripe when you first set up your portal. The Set up billing step of the setup wizard has the same Stripe button, shows Stripe connected once you are done, and lets you choose Skip billing for now.
Import data you already have in Stripe
If your Stripe account already has products or subscriptions, ManyRequests offers to import them after you connect. A Sync data with Stripe panel appears under the switch with two choices: Skip or Sync with Stripe. If you click Sync with Stripe, you choose between Import only services and Import services and clients (the clients subscribed to your plans). When you import clients, you can also turn on Send email invitation to newly added clients so they get an invitation to join your portal. Read more in Import your existing Stripe services and clients.
Disconnect Stripe
Go to Settings > Modules and extensions > Billing.
Turn off Automate payments with Stripe.
In Disconnect from Stripe, click Disconnect.
After you disconnect, existing payment and subscription data stops syncing with Stripe and becomes out of date.
