Set your portal name, logos, colors, region and advanced options like domains, custom CSS, sign up, privacy and search indexing.

Written by Gabriel Lecointere

Use case: You want your client portal to feel like part of your agency, with your own name, logo, colors, language and domain. Everything here is set in a few settings pages, and your clients see the result the next time they load the portal.

Plans: Customize email templates and Custom email domain need the Pro plan. Custom portal domain only shows if your plan includes custom domain support.

Portal name and branding

Go to Settings > Portal. On the Portal tab you can change:

Portal tab with Portal name, Logo for light background, Logo for dark background and Favicon
  • Portal name: the name shown across your portal.

  • Logo for light background and Logo for dark background: recommended 200x50 px or similar proportions, with a transparent background.

  • Favicon: the small icon in the browser tab, recommended 36x36 px with a transparent background.

Region and preferences

Region and Preferences sections with Language, Timezone, Primary color, Sidebar dark mode, Sidebar color and Sidebar text color
  • Language and Timezone: the default for your portal. See How to change your client portal language.

  • Primary color: used for buttons and links.

  • Sidebar color and Sidebar text color: the background and text color of the sidebar. Use the reset icon next to a color to go back to the default.

  • Sidebar dark mode: gives the sidebar a dark background. When it's on, the two sidebar color options are hidden.

  • Always use dark-background logo in sidebar: shows your dark-background logo in the sidebar whatever the sidebar color, which helps when you pick a dark custom sidebar color.

Advanced portal settings

Go to Settings > Portal and open the Advanced tab.

Advanced tab with Customize email templates, Custom email domain, Custom portal domain, Custom CSS and Custom scripts
Advanced tab with Brands, Link catalog, Sign up page, Enhanced Privacy and Prevent search engine indexing, with the indexing switch highlighted
  • Brands: let clients manage several brands under their organization. Click Edit brand form to choose what clients fill in when they add a brand. See How to set up and use brands.

  • Link catalog: offer a catalog of domains your clients can buy backlinks on.

  • Sign up page: lets new clients create a free account themselves at your portal address followed by /register. See How to enable a self sign up page.

  • Enhanced Privacy: hides client email addresses from team members.

  • Prevent search engine indexing: tells search engines like Google not to index your portal pages.

Advanced tab with Client phone number, Ask for phone number at checkout, Require the phone number and Display link to service agreement
  • Client phone number: adds a phone number field to client profiles. Two extra options appear when it's on: Ask for phone number at checkout asks new clients for a number while they check out, and Require the phone number makes the field mandatory wherever it's shown.

  • Display link to service agreement: shows a link to your terms on the sign up form. Enter the Link to service agreement and the Link text (for example, "Terms of service").

Click Save changes at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Keep your portal out of search results

If you don't want your portal's pages to show up on Google and other search engines, turn on Prevent search engine indexing on the Advanced tab and click Save changes.

  • On: every portal page tells search engines not to index it or follow its links.

  • Off: search engines may index pages they can reach, such as your login page.

This doesn't change who can open your portal. Pages that need a login stay private either way.

Your notification preferences

Go to Settings > Profile and account and open the Notification preferences tab to choose which notifications you get by Email and In app. These settings are personal: each team member sets their own. See How notifications work and how to edit notification settings.
