Use case: You run a subscription for clients whose needs change every month. With credits, a landing page might cost 5 credits, a social ad 2 and a quick edit 1. Clients get a set number of credits each billing period and spend them on the work they need most, and you never have to renegotiate scope.
Create a credit-based service
Go to Services > All services and click Create service.
Choose One-off or Recurring and click Next.
Add the service details (name, description, image) and click Next.
In Pricing details, select Credit based.
Enter the Price, the Recurring period and the number of Credits included in each billing period. Click Add recurring period to offer more billing periods, each with its own price and credits.
Optional, recurring services only: turn on Allow unused credits to roll over. Under Rollover settings, choose Credits roll over indefinitely or Credits roll over for a limited number of months and set the Number of months.
Click Next, set up the request form, and save the service.
Saving a credit-based service turns on Request credits in Settings > Modules and extensions > Requests, so your team can set a credit cost on requests.
Set the credit cost of a request
When a client submits a request, decide how many credits it costs:
Open the request and click the credits button at the top right, next to the three dots.
Use the minus and plus buttons or type a number, then click Save.
The credits are deducted from the client organization's balance. If you change the number later, the balance is adjusted to match. Clients can see the cost but can't change it.
Check a client's credits (your team)
On the request
The request's Summary shows the organization's credits, for example "13/50 Credits" with a progress bar. Hover over it to see the Credits summary: purchased, used, remaining, next expiration and the amount expiring.
The request's Details tab shows the cost of that request under Credits consumed.
On the organization
Go to Users > Clients, open the Organizations tab and click the organization.
Open the Credits tab. The Balance card shows used credits out of the total for the current period, and Remaining shows what is left.
Below the cards, Used credits lists each request and its cost, and Purchased credits lists where credits came from (the service, a top-up or a manual addition) with their Expires date.
Add or remove credits manually
Use this for goodwill credits, corrections or credits sold outside the portal.
On the organization's Credits tab, go to Purchased credits and click Add credits.
Choose Predefined to pick one of your top-up options, or Custom to enter an Amount and a Description.
Click Add balance.
To take credits away, click Remove credits instead, enter the number of credits and a reason, and confirm. You can't remove more credits than are available.
What clients see
Credits in the client's sidebar menu opens the same Balance and Remaining cards, with their Used credits and Purchased credits.
The sidebar shows their credits (for example "13/50 Credits" with a progress bar). Hovering over it opens the same Credits summary your team sees.
If you offer top-up options, clients see a Top-up button next to their sidebar credits to buy more. See How to create top-up options.
On each request, the Details tab shows Credits consumed, the same value your team sees.
