Which payment gateway do you support?

Learn which payment methods you can accept in ManyRequests: Stripe (including ACH) and manual payments.

Written by Gabriel Lecointere

ManyRequests supports two ways to get paid: online payments through Stripe, and manual payments that you collect outside the platform (bank transfer, PayPal, Wise and so on). You can turn on one or both.

Use case: You run a design subscription and want renewals charged automatically by card, but a few international clients prefer to pay by bank transfer. You turn on both methods, and each client picks the one that suits them when they pay.

Supported payment methods

1. Stripe (cards and other online methods)

Connect your Stripe account to accept online payments directly in your portal. Stripe charges recurring subscriptions automatically at each renewal.

At checkout, clients see the online payment methods you have turned on in your Stripe account, such as credit and debit cards or wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

2. ACH transfers (through Stripe)

For US clients who prefer bank-to-bank payments, ACH also runs through Stripe. ACH must be enabled in your Stripe account first.

3. Manual payments (bank transfer, PayPal, Wise and others)

For any method that isn't integrated, turn on manual payments. You choose the name clients see (for example "Bank transfer") and write the instructions they need, such as your bank details or PayPal address. ManyRequests charges no fees on manual payments.

When a client checks out or pays an invoice, they pick your manual method, see your instructions and can enter a Payment number or payment reference. The invoice stays Pending until you confirm the payment.

Once the money arrives, go to Invoices, click the three dots next to the invoice and choose Mark as paid. The client then gets access to what they bought.

How to set up payments

  1. Go to Settings > Modules and extensions and open Billing.

  2. Stay on the Payments tab.

  3. For Stripe, click the Stripe button to connect your account. Once connected, Automate payments with Stripe shows as on.

  4. For manual payments, turn on Enable manual payments, then fill in Payment method name and Instructions.

Tips

  • For subscriptions, Stripe is the best fit: renewals are charged automatically, so you don't chase payments.

  • For one-off projects, manual payments or ACH can be more flexible, depending on what your client prefers.

  • You can mix and match. Many agencies use Stripe for subscriptions and offer manual payments for custom projects.

  • There is no direct PayPal integration. To accept PayPal, use manual payments and put your PayPal details in the instructions.
