How to change your currency

Change the billing currency of your portal, see what happens to existing services, and offer services in more than one currency.

Use case

You want to charge your clients in a currency other than US dollars, or offer services in more than one currency.

Your portal currency is used for new services, add-ons, top-up options, discount coupons and invoices.

How to change your currency

  1. In the left sidebar, go to Settings > Modules and extensions.

  2. Click the Billing card.

Modules tab with the Billing module highlighted
  1. On the Payments tab, scroll down to Currency.

  2. Choose your billing currency from the list.

  3. Click Save changes.

What happens to your existing services

Changing the currency doesn't convert anything. Services you created before keep their original currency and price, and editing them later doesn't change their currency. Only services you create after the change use the new currency.

Offer services in multiple currencies

Because each service keeps the currency it was created in, you can sell services in different currencies at the same time:

  1. Change your currency as described above, for example to Canadian Dollar.

  2. Go to Services > All services and click Create service.

  3. Choose the service type and fill in the service details.

  4. On Pricing details, the price field now shows the new currency. Enter your price and finish the service as usual.

  5. Repeat with another currency for each version of the service you need.

  6. When you're done, switch the currency back to the one you use most, since new add-ons, coupons and invoices use it.

Good to know: To offer the same service in two currencies, create it twice, once in each currency. Each service's currency is shown next to its price in your services list.
