Move a client to a different organization when they change teams, join another client company, or were added to the wrong organization by mistake.
Use case: A freelancer you work with joins one of your client companies. You move their client account into that company's organization, so their requests and invoices show up there, without creating a new login.
Only portal admins and admins can change a client's organization.
How to move a client to another organization
In the sidebar, go to Users > Clients.
Find the client and click the three dots at the end of their row.
Click Change organization.
In the Change client to another organization window, open the Organization list and pick the new organization. You can type in the search box to find it.
Click Change organization to confirm.
You land on the new organization's Members tab and see the message Client organization changed.
You can also do this from an organization: open the organization, go to its Members tab, and use the same three-dot menu on the client's row.
What happens when you move a client
Their requests, subscriptions and invoices move with them. These belong to the client, so they now show under the new organization.
Credits and hours stay behind. Credit and hour balances belong to the organization, so the client can no longer use the old organization's balance.
Following is cleaned up. The client stops following the old organization and the requests of their former colleagues. Their former colleagues stop following the client's requests.
Moving the owner. If the client owns the old organization, ownership passes to another member of that organization. If they were its only member, the old organization is deleted.
