Plans: Mailchimp is available on the Pro plan. You need to be a portal admin or admin to set it up.
Use case: you want each new client organization's owner added to your Mailchimp audience, and tagged when they buy, cancel or come back, so your onboarding and win-back emails run on their own. No more exporting and importing contacts.
Only the organization owner is synced. Other members of the organization are never sent to Mailchimp.
How to set up Mailchimp
Go to Settings > Integrations and click Mailchimp.
In Mailchimp, go to Account & billing > Extras > API keys and create or copy an API key. It ends with a data center suffix such as "-us19".
Back in ManyRequests, paste the key into Mailchimp API key and click Save changes. The page then shows "API key on file" with your data center, and the next steps appear.
Under Audience, choose the audience owners should join from Select an audience…. If a new audience is missing, click Refresh. Click Save changes. Once the key and audience are saved, the Event tags section appears and the Enabled toggle unlocks.
Under Event tags, turn on the events you want to sync. For each event you can fill in Tags to add and Tags to remove. Type a tag and press Enter or comma. New tags are created in Mailchimp the first time they are used. Leave both empty to just subscribe the owner without a tag.
Turn on Enabled next to Mailchimp configuration.
Click Test connection to check that ManyRequests can reach your Mailchimp account, then click Save changes.
Good to know: an owner is added to Mailchimp when one of the events you turned on happens for their organization. Turn on Organization is created if you want every new owner subscribed. Existing organizations aren't imported all at once; they are added the next time an enabled event fires for them.
Events you can tag
Event | Fires when |
Organization is created | A new organization signs up. Fires for the owner only, not for teammates invited later. |
Organization makes a purchase | The organization starts a new subscription or pays a one-off invoice. Renewals don't fire it again. |
A subscription is cancelled | Any single subscription is cancelled, even if the organization still has others. |
Organization has no active subscriptions left | The organization's last active subscription is cancelled. |
Organization comes back | An organization that had cancelled everything starts a new subscription. |
Subscription set to cancel at period end | A cancellation is scheduled for the end of the billing period. |
Organization submits its first request | The organization's very first request, whoever sent it. |
Example: on Organization has no active subscriptions left, add the tag "churned" and remove "active". On Organization comes back, do the opposite.
Status, pause and disconnect
The badge at the top shows Connected, Connected (paused), Needs attention or Not connected.
Pause: turn off Enabled and save. Syncing stops, your settings stay.
Change the key: click (replace) next to the saved key.
Disconnect: click Disconnect and confirm. Existing subscribers stay in your audience, but nothing else is sent.
Troubleshooting
The badge says Needs attention.
Mailchimp rejected the last sync, for example because the API key was revoked or the audience was deleted. Nothing is synced until you fix it. Click (replace) to enter a new API key, or pick another audience, and click Save changes. Then click Test connection: the badge goes back to Connected when the test succeeds.
I can't see the Mailchimp card or it's locked.
Mailchimp needs the Pro plan. Upgrade under Settings > Profile and account.
