Use case: You handle dozens of client requests each month, and titles alone get confusing. With request numbers turned on, every new request gets a unique reference like #1053, so you and your clients can point to the exact request in a message or a call.
What are request numbers?
When request numbers are on, ManyRequests gives every new request a reference number automatically. Numbers go up by one for each new request, starting from the number you choose.
How to turn on request numbers
In the sidebar, go to Settings > Modules and extensions.
Click the cog on the Requests card to open the request settings.
Find Request numbers and switch it on.
In Starting number, enter the number your first new request should get, for example 1000 or 5000. This is handy if you want to continue the numbering from a tool you used before.
Click Save changes.
Good to know:
Only requests created after you turn the setting on get a number. Existing requests aren't numbered retroactively.
You can raise the starting number later, but it must be greater than the number of your most recent request. Deleted requests count too, so numbers are never reused.
If you turn request numbers off, new requests aren't numbered and the numbers are hidden from the list and Kanban view. Numbers already assigned are kept and show again when you turn the setting back on.
Where request numbers appear
Requests list: the Number column shows each request's number. On a phone, the number appears next to the update date.
If you don't see the column, click the sliders button next to Filters, choose Show/Hide columns, turn on Number and click Save changes.
Kanban view: each card shows the number above the request title.
Request page: the number appears above the title in the Summary panel. On smaller screens, open the Details tab and expand More details.
Browser tab: the request page title starts with the number, for example "1007 - Homepage hero redesign".
Find a request by its number
On the requests list, click Filters and type the number in the Number filter.
